Gmail is a great app for managing email across your phone, desktop, and other devices. For a long time, though, it had a frustrating problem that affected many users — and now it has been fixed.

The problem was with newsletters and Google Alert notification emails. These would all arrive in the main inbox, cluttering it and making it difficult to find important messages. I often had to manually mark them as spam just to keep my inbox manageable.

Google has now solved this by introducing automatic tab-based sorting. Emails are now organized into distinct categories automatically.
